FAQs
Q: What is the Hawaii Islands Cannabis Cup?
A: The HI Cannabis Cup is a competition for the best cannabis grown in Hawai’i, of course… but it’s also so much more! It’s a competition, an exhibition, a concert, camping, a collaboration, and it's truly a first-of-its-kind in Hawaii. With food and retail vendors, live music + dj’s, demos + speakers, festival style experiences, and special guests… you don’t want to miss this momentous event!
This is the premier gathering of cannabis industry professionals throughout our islands and a meeting place for the local Hawai’i cannabis community to network, socialize, and celebrate.
Q: Where is it held?
A: The HI Cannabis Cup is held at Care Waialua Farm on the North Shore of O’ahu.
Q: What are the hours?
A: For those who are camping, the event gates open at 9am on Thursday 02/02/23. We kindly ask that all campers are packed up and have exited the event grounds by Sunday 02/05/23, at 12 noon.
For those with event passes, gates open daily (Thur-Fri-Sat) at 12 noon and close at 10 pm.
Q: Is there parking on-site at the event?
A: Yes! There is a $10 charge per vehicle for a parking pass- it is valid for the entire weekend.
These are issued on-site only. Please consider reducing your carbon footprint by carpooling!
Q: Can I buy tickets for entry on the day-of the event?
A: Yes… and no. Event Passes can be purchased upon entry starting at 12 noon (when gates open for attendees). The event pass is $60 at the door and is valid for Thursday, Friday and Saturday entry. Camping packages are offered as pre-sale, online only.
Q: Do I need to have a doctor’s rec. or medical marijuana (329) card to attend?
A: Nope! You are welcome to attend with the purchase of a 3-day event pass or camping package.
Q: Is there a difference in my experience if attending the event as a 329 medical patient?
A: Yes! Only those with a valid HI state 329 card can register as a People’s Choice Judge. Patients also receive different wristbands upon entry that distinguish them from other attendees, which let vendors and exhibitors know that they can legally receive free samples and products containing THC. There will be hemp and cbd options for those without a HI state medical card.
Q: Are minors under 18 years old allowed to attend?
A: For the most part, yes!*-
This is considered a family-friendly event which supports the destigmatizing of licensed mmj patients utilizing their medicine.
Children under 18 are free to attend, *BUT they must be accompanied and supervised by their ticket-holding parent or guardian.
For those who are camping: Children under 18 are ONLY allowed to stay in the private camping area, must be supervised, and must be accompanied by their ticket holding parent or guardian to their campsite. No minors will be allowed entry into the shared yurts.
Q: Any other rules to know?
A: Absolutely 100% positive vibes only- No alcohol. No illegal drugs. Mandatory consent.
There is a ZERO tolerance policy regarding: no weapons, no violence or destructive behavior, no hate speech, no sexual harassment or unconsented contact.
If you violate this policy- You will be removed from the event. You will not be refunded.
Q: Wait, so is there any alcohol served at the HI Cannabis Cup?
A: Nope! This is a completely alcohol-free event.
Q: But, I can smoke weed there??
A: Yes! But again, you should have a valid 329 card as a HI state mmj patient. In accordance with all legal efforts to destigmatize, we will not stop anyone from consuming their medicine.
Our cup is BYOB—bring your own bud (and accessories!)—if you want. Feel free to smoke your own stash, or register as a people’s choice judge and be set for the entire weekend.
